Dinan, the medieval town

Dinan is a well preserved, well restored, walled medieval town, complete with imposing ramparts, towers and a castle about 20 minutes drive from Saint Malo.

Dinan is set in a captivating location on a hillside overlooking the River Rance.

Perfectly preserved timber buildings, weld preserved cobbled street and an almost complete circuit of massive walls which enclose the town over a distance of 3 km are the treats waiting for you.

One of the best ways to enjoy a visit is to simply spend a day wandering the pituresque squares and old streets or admiring the buildings whilst relaxing at a pavement cafe. You may stroll down Rue du Petit Fort to the river Rance & Old Port

The Tower of St Anne or Castle of Dinan which was built in the 14th century and at 34 m high provides great views of the town and the surrounding counrtryside.
