Rules in a park or sensitive natural area

  • Do not leave any trace of your passage, no litter or packaging: they could pollute and harm the health of animals. Litter is a deadly trap for insects and small wildlife.

  • Check if domestic animals are allowed. Keep your dog under control.

  • Do not light fires. Do not throw cigarette butts on the ground.

  • Use marked trails, whether on foot, by mountain bike, or on horseback (for safety, to limit soil erosion, and to avoid disturbing flora and fauna).

  • Do not play music (speakers).

  • Observe wildlife without getting too close to avoid disturbing it.

  • Admire plants without picking them so they do not disappear, ensuring the preservation of this heritage for future generations: plants, insects, fossils...

The French Biodiversity Office

The French Biodiversity Office (OFB) is a public institution dedicated to the protection and restoration of biodiversity in France. Its missions include environmental law enforcement, the management of protected areas, support for public policies, and the mobilization of civil society. Present throughout the entire territory, including overseas territories, the OFB works in collaboration with many partners to preserve ecosystems and promote the sustainable use of natural resources.

The marine environment by OFB

The French marine environment, covering nearly 11 million km², is home to exceptional biodiversity. The French Biodiversity Office (OFB) works to preserve these ecosystems by carrying out monitoring activities, managing marine protected areas, and raising public awareness. The objective is to reconcile human activities with marine environment protection, ensuring the sustainability of its resources and ecosystem services.

The importance of seagrasses

Seagrass meadows, true underwater prairies, play an essential ecological role. Composed of flowering plants such as eelgrass and Posidonia, they stabilize sediments, limit coastal erosion, and serve as nurseries for many marine species. Moreover, these ecosystems contribute to carbon sequestration, helping to combat climate change. Unfortunately, they are threatened by human activities and climate change, requiring increased conservation efforts.

The Nav&Co Application

Created by the OFB, it allows you to discover biodiversity while navigating.

It helps you learn about birds, fish, marine mammals, and habitats while also informing you when you approach a zone with specific environmental regulations.

Additionally, it enables you to record your route.
